MotoGP San Marino, Race Results: Marquez takes back to back Grand Prix victories, Bagnaia second

Marc Marquez is building a winning streak as the Spaniard wins in Misano ahead of Bagnaia in second.

Last week it was Marc Marquez that returned to winning ways at Aragon. With MotoGP returning to San Marino it seemed like the perfect weekend for Jorge Martin was on the cards, or was it?

On the top step of the podium once again was Marc Marquez. The eight-time World Champion has claimed back-to-back victories for the first time since 2021. The Spanish rider made the most of the tricky conditions as rain began disrupting some rider's races.

In second place was Francesco Bagnaia who claimed a crucial 20 points around one of his home circuits. Bagnaia was fighting with Marquez but could not match his pace, in the end, the Italian settled for solid points rather than a potential crash.

In third and rounding out a Ducati podium lockout was Enea Bastianini. The Italian could not match Marquez and Bagnaia despite his late-race pace.

The top KTM in tricky conditions was unsurprisingly Brad Binder. The South African rider loves it when the rain starts falling in a MotoGP race, but the rain did not stay long enough for Binder.

Ducati were in fifth and sixth behind Binder with Marco Bezzecchi in fifth place and Alex Marquez in sixth place.

Fabio Quartararo did not panic in the rain as he had in the past. The French rider took his Yamaha to a top-seven finish as he crossed the line in seventh place.

Jack Miller is another rider who loves mixed conditions. However, the Australian chose the wrong tyre as he picked a soft rear tyre. Miller in the end finished in eighth place.

Fabio Di Giannantonio had a very boring race around Misano. The Italian rider finished in ninth place and was eight seconds behind Miller and 11 seconds ahead of tenth.

Rounding out the top ten was the wildcard KTM test rider, Pol Espargaro. With the Spaniard in tenth it means all three of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing bikes were in the top ten.

Jorge Martin has made a mistake once again. The Spanish rider panicked as the rain began to fall. The #89 was in second behind Bagnaia when the rain fell, but instead of following Bagnaia, he jumped into the pitlane. In the end, Martin finished the race in 15th.
